| Sujet: Ethiopian Airlines and Egyptair in Star Alliance ???? Mar 26 Juin à 20:05 | |
| ET and MS have signed a code share agreements with LH. http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2007/06/26/215164/ethiopian-airlines-eyes-star-alliance.html - Citation :
- Lufthansa and EgyptAir announced a codeshare agreement yesterday that they said will be part of a close cooperation between the two and that will boost rumors that the African carrier is being courted by Star Alliance. A source close to the tie-up confirmed that there have been discussions about EgyptAir's potential membership.
Codesharing will start with the introduction of the winter schedule and will be introduced on Frankfurt-Cairo, FRA-Alexandria and Munich-CAI flights. Cooperation on flights to "tourism centers" in Egypt and North Africa, as well as LH services throughout Europe and to North America, is planned. LH is the largest European carrier in Egypt and currently operates 14 weekly FRA-CAI services and thrice-weekly FRA-Alexandria flights. EgyptAir operates daily flights from CAI to FRA and MUC and twice-weekly services to Berlin Schoenefeld and Dusseldorf. Chairman Abd El Hamid said the agreement is "part of our corporate strategy aimed at forging partnerships with leading airlines in targeted markets." Rumors or not, airline alliance begin to create partenership with african airlines. Skyteam with KQ, Star with SAA, MS and ET. However Oneworld haven't none agreements with african airlines. They should do it, why not with RAM because RAM have a lots of destination in West Africa and Central Africa. This is my opinion of course | |
